Plants
- 3 cups organic* potatoes, cubed
- 1 large turnip, cubed
- 8 cups water/homemade vegetable broth
- 2 medium red onions, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bunch organic* kale, cut into ribbons
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp white pepper
Technique
Combine all ingredients in a large stock pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer. Continue cooking until potatoes and turnip are soft enough to mash, about 20-30 minutes. Thicken soup by using a potato masher or the back of a spoon to mash the potatoes and turnip to desired consistency. Season with black pepper to taste.
